Attention all Sac State Biology and Biochemistry undergraduate students: BIO 180 is an excellent Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) taught by Dr. Reams providing molecular and genetic research experience without requiring you to join a faculty's research lab. This course is particularly attractive to students majoring in Biology or Biochemistry seeking genetic engineering and medically relevant research experience, thereby building your resume for graduate programs, medical schools, and industry positions. BIO 180 is also required for undergraduate students interested in joining Dr. Reams' research team since it teaches all the fundamental lab skills needed to perform research in Dr. Reams' lab and many other research labs. BIO 180 is a 4 unit course (2 x 50 min lectures and 2 x 3 hr labs per week) offered in Fall semesters. The prerequisite course is BIO 184. BIO 121 is no longer a prerequisite. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Reams ([email protected]).
